A Time of Change
Well folks! After some long hard thinking, planning, and good old fashion soul searching, I have decided it is time to give the beloved boxes a semi-retirement. While the responses have been amazing, and they have sold very well, I feel life is short, and it is imperative to follow your bliss! So the focus and scope of Chimaera Creations is going to change. The boxes will be phased out into an annual sale and become only part of the work I do. What is going to Happen to the Boxes? I will be participating in Phinney Ridge Winter Festival, where the last "box" show will be. So, if you have been waiting, wait no longer! After that, I will work on boxes when the mood strikes, and put them up online. If you wish to purchase one, email me! At the years end, what boxes I have created, I will put up for sale at ONE winter Holiday show! In fact, I will put up for sale ALL the art of the year. Not just my boxes. Fun fun! Some stores have asked to sell the boxes as well. So keep an eye out, I may just take them up on the offer!

If not the Boxes, WHAT?
The whole purpose of my boxes was to explore what it means to live consciously, creatively, and spiritualy. Instead of handing YOU a premade box that ignites those qualities in your life, I want to teach YOU how to be your own creative force. I will be combining my degree from Bastyr Univeristy with Art, and be holding workshops that use expressive arts for self-discovery, stress relief, and healing. This website will be one resource, with workshops for hands on work! These classes are in development.....and I am SO happy to be leading this!!! It has been very hard to walk away from a succesful artistic venture, but my heart and soul are so ignited at what is next! You have a degree in what? Not art?! Nope, my degree is in Health Psychology from Bastyr University! The reason I did these boxes was to help people touch into feminine archetypes and use them in their lives on a more conscious level. It was also a way for me to heal the rift between my spirituality and my daily life! And OH the wonderful journey it has been. I look forward to combining the two loves (art and healing) into my livelihood. |
What experience do you have to bring to leading workshops? Some of my knowledge is from the books ( at Bastyr, we learned about, experimented with, and learned hands on approaches to stress and the immune system, pain management and relaxation techniques, etc). Some from real-life experience (Yoga, Feminine Spirituality, and training with Lakota Shaman). And it has amazed me what has found ME. I have been asked to do (and did) small group circles; I have been looking into myth and ritual as a means of deepening our experience of the Divine in our Everyday lives; I have been asked to perform (and did) special ceremonies, such as baby welcomings, Sacred Baby Showers, Art Space Blessings, and for the first time this summer, officiated a wedding! I believe art, like healing, is an inherhent talent we ALL have. Art is not technique, but the journey of the internal Self discovery expressed outwardly. Combine the two! Voila! Art as Healing Workshops! |
